若考官给出的问题为一般疑问句，即需要考生回答yes或no的问句，那么我们在回答时，绝不仅仅回答单一的一个肯定或否定答案，而是在回答问题的基础上，拓展我们的答案。看下面的例子：

Do you think mobile phone is important to you?

在回答这个问题时，很多学生毫不犹豫地说yes, 然后就认为自己已经回答完毕这个问题，接下来等待考官问下一个问题。其实，考官并不只是想听到一个yes或者no, 他在等学生继续拓展这个问题。我们在回答好一般疑问句后，应立刻提醒自己，把自己引导到why I think it is important上面来。我们可以这样回答：

Well, yes, mobile phone is quite important. In the modern society, people have got used to the life with mobile phone, we can not live comfortably without this tool. It has a lot of benefits. First, we need it to keep contact with family and friends. We can call them when we miss them or need help from them. Then we can use mobile phone to surf Internet and play games.

在这个sample中，我们可以看到，我们回答了yes以后，首先提到了手机的重要性，然后开始列举手机的两个优点：一个是帮助联系家人朋友;一个是上网和娱乐。这样的话，我们就充分而自然地解答了手机对我们很重要这个话题。
